All new 365 accounts require Multi Factor Auth (MFA) read instructions below to set it up:

To set up Microsoft 365 Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) using only your phone, download the Microsoft Authenticator app (via Microsoft App Store/Play Store), sign in to your account at aka.ms/mfasetup in a mobile browser, and follow prompts to pair the app by approving a notification or entering a code.
Steps to Set Up MFA (Phone Only):
  1. Install the App: Download and open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone.
  2. Sign In: Open a mobile browser (Chrome/Safari) and go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info or aka.ms/mfasetup and sign in with your work/school credentials.
  3. Add Method: Select + Add method, then choose Authenticator app.
  4. Pairing the Device:
    • Option A (Best): Select "Pair your account to the app" if available, which directly links to the app.
    • Option B (Manual/Code): If prompted to scan a QR code but you cannot (as it is on the same screen), select "I want to set up a different method" or "Can't scan image" to receive a code or use app notifications instead.
  5. Approve: Follow the prompts to approve a test notification in the Authenticator app

 

Setup Email on Outlook

NKIT recommend you use the Outlook app on all mobile devices, the built in mail apps are not compliant for CyberEssentials certification:

if NKIT have migrated your email from another system, large mailbox users may have a delay while outlook syncs before seeing new messages. if you need to stay ahead following a migration, use webmail sign in here:365 webmail 

Office Desktop Apps - users with a standard/e3/premium license can download office apps:

The easiest way to access mail is via the web app click here: 365 webmail and sign in with your credentials

Make sure you don't click save credentials if you are using a shared computer

For sites or users with their own standard license, its best to use OneDrive on the pc/mac. to avoid permissions issues, avoid having more than one OneDrive account per pc
